This week, Valley Center-Pauma Unified School District Superintendent Ron McCowan announced that Kenny Vexler has been named as the next Assistant Principal at Valley Center High School.

"Kenny has been an outstanding teacher at both Valley Center Middle School and Valley Center High School," McCowan said. "Over the years, he has demonstrated exceptional dedication to our students' education and well-being, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues, students, and parents alike.

"With a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting the growth and development of our students, Kenny is well-equipped to take on this new leadership role. We are confident that he will continue to make a significant impact on our school community.

Vexler grew up in Valley Center since the age of 5 and completed all his schooling in the Valley Center-Pauma Unified School District. He then attended California State University San Marcos to complete a Bachelor's of Science in Biology, acquiring his Teaching Credential, and a Masters of Educational Administration.

"I am honored and excited to have been chosen to be the next Assistant Principal at Valley Center High School," Vexler said.

"I am most excited to give back to the school and community that has given me so much. I look forward to continuing the fantastic culture and traditions that have made VCHS great, and partnering with teachers and students to bring new perspectives and ideas to our school."

Vexler's first teaching position was at Escondido Charter High School, the next year when a position opened up at Valley Center Middle School, he said he "jumped at the opportunity to return to my community."

He taught Dual Language Science for seven years at the middle school in grades 6-8, and then transferred to the high school, where he has been for the last four years. At the high school, he taught Biology, Biotechnology, served as the ASB Director, coached Girls Varsity Soccer for 10 years, Varsity Field Hockey for one year, and Assistant Cross-Country Coach for one year.
