Sheila Lee

Late last month, Valley Center High School Superintendent Ron McCowan announced Sheila Lee as the new Assistant Principal at Valley Center High School.

"Sheila is eager to be part of our VCPUSD family and is committed to serving, learning, and growing alongside our wonderful community," McCowan said in an email. "Please join me in welcoming Sheila to her new role and offering her your support as she transitions into her new position at Valley Center High School."

Lee received her undergraduate degree at the University of California, San Diego in Biology. Post college, she discovered her passion for teaching when working as a reading consultant at Lindamood-Bell Learning Center. She pursued her credentials in multiple subjects, mild/moderate special education, and moderate/severe special education with a Masters of Education at California State University, San Marcos.

Lee had eight successful years teaching students with mild to severe learning needs in both academics and behavior. During her teaching experience, she went back to CSUSM to receive her Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification.

She continued on as a special education department chair and later moved into the role of teacher on special assignment at the district level. She has overseen the development, learning, and growth of specialized programs across the district, working with students, staff and programs for ages K-22.

Lee has a 2 year old son named Callum and he is "the light of her world." She also has two dogs, Pepper and Luna, who share in the fun. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, sharing experiences, building connections, and finding joy in everyday life.

Lee is excited to be a part of VCPUSD and commits to serving, learning, and growing alongside this great community.
